McClurkin says, 'he doesn’t... crusade against homosexuality."

Wed Oct 24, 2007 at 10:08:54 AM PDT

In an exclusive interview with the Chicago Trib, Donnie McClurkin says that he has not been on a crusade to 'cure' homosexuals, and that

"His ideals and most importantly his ministry, he says, were severely misconstrued."

Apparently McClurkin and Obama "first connected" at the fundraiser that Oprah Winfrey held for Obama last month. It was after this meeting that McClurkin decided to join the Obama campaign.

"I believe in his stance. I believe in his platform and his agenda. So when they asked me if I would be apart of it, there was no problem," says McClurkin,

Beck calls Hillary a "stereotypical bitch"

Thu Mar 15, 2007 at 07:26:14 PM PDT

Apparently Glen Beck was on a tear today on his national radio show, The Glenn Beck Show. Media Matters has the low lights from the show where he loses all control and calls a former first lady, sitting U.S. Senator and the leader of all polls for the Democratic nomination for President, a "bitch".

There's something about her voice that just drives me -- it's not what she says, it's how she says it," adding, "She is like the stereotypical -- excuse the expression, but this is the way to -- she's the stereotypical bitch, you know what I mean?"

He also goes off the deepend and pulls a Saxby Chamblis and accuses Jimmy Carter of being a terrorist sypathizer. He is simply beyond the pale. I am surprised there is no diary up here yet about it, so I just through together a quick one. I wanted to add links to complain to CNN but I am dying here with a terrible cold and it is killing me to sit up and write this. I'll delete if someone wants to put up a more detailed diary.

Alligators eating people, babies in the water!

Tue Sep 06, 2005 at 11:12:16 PM PDT

I searched the diaries and didnt see any posts about Charmaine Neville, singer and sister of the performers, the Neville Brothers, heart rending eyewitness tale of survival in the 9th ward, near downtown New Orleans.

WAFB TV in Baton Rouge has an interview with singer/survivor. She sits in a chair with a priest on his knees before with his hands on her shoulders as she recounts an ordeal that seems like a script for a James Cameron movie. A flight from rushing waters, saving the elderly and disabled, scrounging for food, attacked by rapists, ignored by the national guard and a desperate bus ride to find shelter.

I hope Oprah saw this so she can get an interview so the world can see how people were abandoned in N.O.

"Snarky Pillow Talk" from Rush Limbaugh and Daryn Kagan?

Thu Apr 07, 2005 at 10:05:55 PM PDT

From their respective shows 04/07/05, in response to questions to fallout regarding the GOP generated Schiavo memo!
  • Daryn Kagan:      What's the big deal?
  • Rush Limbaugh:   What's wrong with the Republicans having political strategy sessions?

After a night out at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner, Rush Limbaugh and Daryn Kagan, doing their best Beauty and the Beast act, took a limo to their hotel and proceeded to seperate rooms (abstinence first), slipped into their cold lonely beds, picked up the phones and proceeded to do their best Rock Hudson/Doris Day impersonation.

Thinking that Gannon/Guckert would be the talk of the dinner, imagine their disdain when the Schiavo memo that, 55 Senate Republicans swore they had never seen, turned out to be real? What would they tell their loyal listeners and viewers?  That their pimping of the Schiavo memo was nothing but a dirty right wing smear tactic to take political advantage of a (gasp!) disabled women.   More on the flip.

Michael Moore vs. Bernard Kerik arrest stories

Mon Jan 24, 2005 at 12:26:21 PM PDT

Late last week, the sclm and every dime store entertainment program (celebrity justice, access hollywood) ran stories about the arrest of a former Michael Moore bodyguard who was arrested for a gun violation. What they failed to tell all of us that he was arrested for wanting to carry an unloaded gun in his checked baggage on a flight to California and the arrest was because he did not have a license for the gun in that state, but he did have a license to carry a gun.

Now comes the story of the arrest of former Guiliani confidant, Bernard-the nanny did it-Kerik's personal bodyguard and chaffeur. It seems that Eddie Aswad(who changed his last name from Santorum, for tax purposes) was busted for fighting with NYC cops and carrying Kerik's ID and badge.

CBS: Dems responsible for most trickery? Ha!

Tue Oct 26, 2004 at 04:06:57 PM PDT

If you happened to see the CBS evening new two minutes ago, and didnt have a brain in your head, you would have been left with the impression that 7 out of 8 cases of campaign hooliganism is by democrats.  The story reported by Lee Cowan was about the acts of vandalism and sometimes physical violence that are happening this election season. In the lead ups to the story, flashes of Bush/Cheney signs are torn up and union members confronting right wing nuts, are shown. When the actual report is shown, 8 acts of vandalism are shown, all of which, except for one,are alledged to be done by Kerry supporters. The story is nothing but a montage of torn BC04 signs and allegations,(a qualifier never used in the report)of dems breaking into repub offices and attacking Bush supporters. And then guess who they roll out to be academia's, unbiased commentator on the veracity of their story? None other than right wing poller/pundit Larry Sabato. And what does he say, what insight does he offer?
"God help us if there is a recount".
What is the viewer to infer, that the dems will take to the streets?

Who wrote these questions, KarL Rove?

This is a prime example of KE04 not fighting for every point in the debate rules leads to some of the worse and slanted questions i have ever seen in a debate. Why in the hell did they allow george bush's golfing buddy to be a moderator?

new cnn poll-- michigan to close to call

Tue Sep 14, 2004 at 10:34:33 PM PDT

this startling headline was taken verbatim from the cnn site

Daily Kos

my god i said, to close to call. what could the spread be. kerry 49 bush 48 or 47. but when you read the article you see that the results are:

                LV    RV           diff
     Kerry      50    50            +6K
     Bush       44    43            +7K
     Nader       1     1          who gives a shit

how in the hell do they call a poll with +/- 3% m.o.e, to close to call?  i'll tell you why, because its a poll that favors kerry that's why. at first i thought maybe i was making much ado about nothing about the way cnn headlines poll stories.  but yesterday cnn hawked all day long about new poll numbers in wisconsin that showed bush with a commanding 8 point lead, 52-44, over Kerry. Paula "cbs fired me" Zahn and Candy "i aint no dainty eater"Crowley went on and on about the demise of the Kerry campaign and the how the bush camp had the wind at their backs. not once did they mention the 5% moe the poll had. now with this michigan poll, where was the inside politics hype by judy"ropeneck" woodruff and wolf"no thats not my real name"blitzer. no where to be found.
we all remember when kerry was leading in every poll prior to the rnc in n.y. almost every reference to the polls was done in a "to close to call" mantra. now that most of the polls show a tied race or bush with lead within the moe, the race is now called a bush runaway.
but whose fault is this? i dont blame cnn, not really. when polls come out that are not favorable to bush, we have all read stories of how the BC04 team gets on the phone and beats the shit out of the pollsters and the people who report them. but what does KE04 do when negative, misleading and poorly done polls about them come out, not jack shit. oh we all have read at dailykos the very good breakdowns of the polls by loyal kossacks and donkey rising. but can anyone tell me have they ever seen someone from the kerry campaign get on tv and bitch about a biased poll? i tell you if mary beth cahill, who is supposed to be a ball buster, got her fat ass in cnn's face on an hourly basis, they would think twice about putting out misleading poll ledes.

Queen Laura says TANG memos are forgeries!

Tue Sep 14, 2004 at 09:12:37 AM PDT

CNN headlines news earlier today played an audio interview that Pickles Bush gave to an Iowa radio station where she says, and i am paraphrasing here because i cant find the direct quote and cnn hasnt replayed it,

"the documents have probably been altered or they are forgeries and that is a shame."

The first question that comes to mind about Laura's pronouncement is whether this is now the White House's reply to memogate? Especially since the Bush admin tact had been to obfuscate and let sclm run interference for them. If the documents were forgeries and bush had proof, they would be hammering Kerry over the head 24/7 on the networks. Since the majority of experts cited have said that the memos are probably true, why would the White House send Pickles out to fight this battle? As seen in the past weeks, Pickles has used her super duper librarian skills to become the leading admin spokesperson on stem cell research and the veracity of the swift boat ads. Is it any wonder when these documents showed up that the first MLS,-mistress of library science- to serve as first lady, would be the go to gal to verify their authenticity.

I think that this response by Pickles was off the cuff and not coordinated with Rove. What the Kerry campaign needs to do now is get the media to ask the appropriate follow up questions to Laura's response:

"Mrs. Bush, if you think that the memos are forgeries, meant to damage the president, what should happen to the perpetrators of this foul deed?"
"But if the memos are proven true, Mrs. Bush, should you have to apologize for this slander and what price should the President pay?"

Next GOPer to be hung "out" to Drier

Fri Sep 03, 2004 at 12:02:22 PM PDT

They are nothing but hypocrits. We all saw Dubya fight back the tears when he complained about the "soft bigotry" that his opponents have for people of color attaining democracy. But where were his tears for the victims of the hard anti-gay bigotry expressed at the RNC? You all saw it. Be it the suppression of those who support gay rights--Rudy"how much is that dress in the window--not for me but for my former gay roomies"Guiliani, or Ahnold's "girlie men" slur. The adulation shown to rampant homophobes like Phyllis Schaefly, Rick"man on dog"Santorum and Alan"selfish hedonist"Keyes. How about the way Dick"where's my Mary"Cheney lips curl when he talks about Kerry being "sensitive. They want laws to stop flag burnings, but laws to stop fag burnings are considered "extra rights". But the worst offenders are the gays/lesbians, like Ed Koch, Rep Mark Foley and Mary Cheney, who support this through their silence. The only way you can stop the hypocrits is to expose them.  So here is a little news you need to look out for. A couple of friends of mine were watching the convention with me and started up a game of "gaydar". When Sen. Lindsey Graham came on they all yelled gay. But the biggest roar came when Rep David Drier was on the screen. I asked my friend Joey if he was sure, and he said his gaydar had been working since 6th grade gym and he had never been wrong. So armed with this scientific evidence, we emailed the guys at Blogactive.com with our suspicions. Well the next thing we know we get a reply from Mike at blogactive with this little tid bit....
"Hmmm.. Look later today..some interesting David Drier audio going up."?????

Now this could be refering to Drier's earlier interview with Michael Signoreli, where he refused to say whether he was straight or gay, or they could be possible along the line of the Rep. Ed"I just want to play around"Schroke tapes. I am new to posting so I dont know how to put in a link to blogactive but I know you guys know how to get there.
